Dates in Posts

April 30th, 2007 by Mark Baker

I just realized that if we standardize on a date format then readers can easily search for activities based on a specific date. Like if they are looking for something to do on May 19th they can use the search feature (on the right there) to pull up everything that contains a certain date, like 5/19. Shall we try to be consistent and use a mm/dd format when mentioning dates in our posts? What do you think, would that help?

Internet Radio

April 27th, 2007 by Mark Baker

For us rural folks who rely on radio, internet radio in particular, please be aware that we are at a major crossroads. Rates may go way up (retroactively) for Internet radio broadcasters and in all likelyhood most of the smaller & non-commercial ones will go away if the proposed rules are implemented in mid May. I’ve been wrong before so check it out for yourself. Book up at Save Net Radio or here or here

By the way, I love KJAZ (classic jazz archive) and Secret Agent (upbeat silliness). What stations do you listen to?

Kooskia Opera House

April 26th, 2007 by Mark Baker

The Kooskia Opera House is for sale and a committee has been formed to save it. They have a beautiful Save The Opera House site that talks about Jazz great Lee Morris’ connection to the building. The site has some wonderful pictures of old Kooskia and video too. And there is also mention of the preservation effort on the Kooskia site as the Opera House Committee.

Dan Faller’s got one too

April 23rd, 2007 by Mark Baker

Speaking of new websites, Dan Faller has a nice site up now. It even includes a picture of Dan playing at the Grangeville Arts sushi dinner at The Gallery back in February. This was such a nice evening that I ended up joining the group right then and there.

Grangeville Arts new website

April 23rd, 2007 by Mark Baker

Welcome to the new Grangeville Arts website. We now have this blog that all members may post to. There is also a page for updates on the upcoming Music Fest and some Links to arty friends with web pages.

Please feel free to go ahead and leave a comment or email us and let us know what you think. Yes, especially you.

The words here are those of the poster and do not necessarily reflect the position of Grangeville Arts, Inc. Particularly when it comes to favorite musicians, desserts and what a reasonable amount of wasabi is.

My thanks to Rachel Young who had the original idea for the website. She gets all the credit for getting things rolling, the board’s approval, the domain and putting up the original site. And thanks for being so supportive of this update, it wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.
