Appetizers, Microbrew tasting, Monte Carlo madness. $15 per person. Tickets available at Lindsleys Home Furnishings, Irwin Drug and The Gallery. All proceeds benefit The Kids Klub, Inc. Youth Development Programs.

It is time for the annual Grangeville Music Festival

Betty and Ozark Mountain Music, 3-5 at Brodocks Lounge,
Billy G. Camp, 5-7 at The Gallery,
The Clumsy Lovers, 8pm+ at the Elk’s Lodge.

$20 for all 3 shows or just The Clumsy Lovers. $10 will get you into either of the first 2 shows. All venues are within a few of blocks of each other in downtown Grangeville.

There will also be an Arts and Crafts show in Heritage Square from 10-3.

The Grangeville library now offers audio books that you can “check out” and download to your home computer. So it’s like borrowing books on tape, but without the tape. And you can do it right now from your computer. Call the Grangeville Centennial Library at 983-0951 for the details.

Grangeville Horizons, Your Piece Matters. Community Visioning Rally Monday, Oct 15th. 5 pm dinner, 6-9pm rally at the Grangeville High School. Childcare available. Here is some information from the literature:

Grangeville Horizons Visioning Rally is an opportunity for residents to create Grangeville’s future and work toward the fulfillment of a common purpose. The major outcome of the visioning process is the energy, action, and progress which is unleashed in the community during and following the event.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

* A powerful community vision statement encompassing the new thinking and ideas that emerge during the evening;
* An assessment of the community of their strengths and weaknesses;
* Formation of specific focused action groups to turn the vision into reality.

BROADER OUTCOMES

* A community-designed framework for future strategic and action planning;
* Broad engagement of the community;
* Unleashing of innovation, creativity and ownership within the community.

Rural communities in North Idaho that have undertaken visioning rallies have experienced:

* Increased participation in building the future of the community
* New collaboration and partnerships
* Numerous specific and effective projects
* Broader agreement and less conflict within the community
* New events, businesses and economic development

There will be a market meeting on 10/12 to talk about how our initial season went. Not so much planning for next year as discussing the strengths and weaknesses of what we did this year. While it is still fresh in everyone’s minds. Everyone in the community is invited to attend and share their observations and analysis of our inaugural Grangeville Farmers’ Market season. This includes you. Vendors in particular are encouraged to attend.
